As a cosplayer I think learning how to do a proper face paint is a needed skill in all your skill sets, and as a student of graphic design I think it should be good at these kind of things considering I will draw for a living. To top it all I am a pretty good makeup artist and I can put on make up quite well. So this winter I had not only 1 but 2 face paint jobs and I must say I surprised myself.

My first subject was my own blooded brother. (insert epic music here) He wanted to become Darth Maul for a costume party his friend held. I, however, said that no matter when he has to go, he is not leaving the house without a proper makeup on his face. I decided to do the full face makeup including horns. This was my first time putting on a bold cap on someone, experimenting with latex, and making horns out of Femo clay. To be honest I had no idea if it will look good but in the end it turned out great.

As for my second face paint I did, it was for a New Year costume party, that was held here in Belgrade 3 days ago. Considering I started at 8 o'clock and had to finish for 3 hours, I was very happy with the result. My best friend Katarina did the makeup on her sister and I on her sisters friend who I met on the same day. Thankfully I am quite a sociable person so it wasn’t akward...Much... But he did give me a challenge I must say. He wanted a skull face similar to Zombie boy which I never drew before. It was 10 times harder then Darth Maul because it looked realistic and it had to be shaded. It wasn't just plain face paint on skin like with Darth Maul, so I did what I could with all my might and, I amazed myself. Guess the steady designer hand, and my talent for drawing, didn't fail me in that moment. What made it easier was the fact that the guy has a perfect bone structure. I swear to god I touched and saw many faces but that guy had a face made for that make up. It was easy following his bone structure and painting as it goes. The guy was so happy and he even said he wanted to cry when he had to take off all of that makeup. That made me quite happy and proud of myself. I was also proud of my friend Katarina, who did an awesome job considering she has nothing to do with cosplay or costumes in general. She does do amazing makeup though.
